Know before you go.
A practical checklist for preparing for your knowledge-test visit.
Check the official information close to your visit.
DriveTest provides current knowledge-test information, available languages, service locations, accessibility information, and requirements. Requirements, fees, and hours can change. Use the official website to confirm what applies to you instead of relying on a saved social post or an old practice app.
Confirm your identity documents.
Ontario lists the accepted documents for applying for a driver’s licence. Check the official requirements for proof of legal name and date of birth, and bring the required original identification. If your documents or situation are unusual, resolve questions with the official service before travelling.
Study the full handbook.
DriveTest says knowledge tests draw from the relevant official handbook. Our initial sample is a way to practise selected concepts, not a replacement for reading it. Use missed answers to direct your reading. Give extra attention to topics you have only memorised without understanding.
Keep your practice result in perspective.
A strong practice session is useful feedback about the questions you have seen. It cannot guarantee a pass or supply a reliable numerical probability. Our 40-question practice session uses 20 sign questions and 20 road-rule questions, with a study target of 16 correct in each section. Treat that as our learning format; verify official test requirements with DriveTest.
